Vents

While you think of installing an exhaust fan, you will need to consider the vent it will require for extracting the stale air. Vents are much required for exhaust fans without which you cannot expect them to work properly. Vents need to be decided before you start installation of your exhaust fans. Generally in homes vents are cut as a hole into the roof soffit according to the instructions that are given with the exhaust fan kit. You can further attach the hose to the vent that mounts on the outside of the soffit. This vent should also be included in your kit.

This should face down as you have to eliminate chances of rain, snow or other debris getting into the exhaust pipe, and thus the moist air from your room will be safely pumped outside.

Vents can be covers with vent covers that enhance the looks. There are different types of vents that are available in the market. The selection of one depends on the fan type and also the quality.
